Purpose

Purpose

We were drawn to water4.org because they not only seek to solve a problem, they learn and adjust along the way to be the best they can be. They don’t simply provide a village a well, they do much more.

Their model promotes dignity by providing men the opportunity to work. It offers women options and the freedom to hope and nurture their children. It gives children their health and an opportunity for education. Basically, it gives communities back to themselves. They do this in three ways:

Train

Water4 provides hands-on training to local men and women. They teach them how to manually drill water wells. Install hand pumps, repair existing pumps, and rehabilitate non-functioning wells.

Equip

Water4 equips the drill teams they train with the tools they need to start their own well-drilling business. Think of it as start-up capital. By the time natural wear and tear takes its toll on the equipment, the drill teams have earned enough income to invest in tool repair and replacement.

Support

Water4 is committed to continuous listening and learning from the in-country partners as technology and needs evolve. They also provide a certification process where active drill teams can perform a series of tests and become officially Water4 certified. This helps ensure that communities benefit from consistently reliable wells and pumps.

The Coffeeprops team thinks this is an awesome way to change the world. That’s why we partner with them.
